Built in the early 1800s, Winston Plantation presented a rare opportunity to honor the craftsmanship and history of a remarkable Southern home through thoughtful restoration and historically sensitive design.

The project began with extensive research and careful exploration of the home's original character. Layers of wallpaper and paint were painstakingly removed to uncover historic finishes and architectural details that had been hidden for generations. Flooring was repaired, original light fixtures were restored whenever possible, and the kitchen was thoughtfully renovated to provide modern functionality while respecting the home's historic integrity.

To complement the architecture, period-appropriate furnishings, antiques, and decorative pieces were carefully sourced, ensuring every selection reflected the home's rich heritage and timeless elegance. Each decision was guided by a commitment to preserving the property's story while creating spaces that could once again be enjoyed by a modern family.

Although the home was sold before the project reached completion, the work accomplished demonstrates a deep appreciation for historic preservation and the careful balance required when restoring significant properties.
